Factorsynth Capabilities:

Factorsynth analyzes and breaks down audio clips into a set of temporal and spectral components. After extracting these components, users can manipulate and combine them to create melodic, rhythmic, and timbral variations. It allows for the creation of hybrid sounds by combining components from two different sounds, can be used as a MIDI instrument, or synced with a DAW host for live remixing.

What Factorsynth Cannot Do:

Factorsynth is not a stem separator and is not intended for demixing full instruments (e.g., vocals, drums). Instead, it focuses on detecting and extracting unpredictable but interesting sound elements with a certain structure (notes, drum hits, rhythmic or melodic motifs).

Processing Full Tracks:

While the length of input audio files is not limited, it's recommended to use shorter clips (less than 30 seconds) for optimal performance. Factorsynth is more effective with shorter clips, but users have the flexibility to decide how far they want to go, considering potential memory consumption with longer files.
